About Candlepin 101

Hi there and welcome to Candlepin 101! I’m Ashley – a full-time travel writer, World War II historian, tour guide, and very amateur candlepin bowler. When I’m not traveling, I’m at home in Massachusetts working on any number of projects–one of those always being my bowling average.

I started Candlepin 101 from a desire to create a single source of information about this unique regional sport. I grew up in the land of (what I’ve learned should never be called) ‘regular’ bowling, but I’ve since embraced the world of candlepin. Now, the big balls are far behind me.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Feel free to reach out with any candlepin bowling questions, blog post suggestions, or anything else. [Contact]

Hi, I’m Ashley!

I’m a full-time travel writer and historian based in Boston, MA. When I’m not traveling, I’m somewhere around here working on my [consistently mediocre] bowling average.

Join me as I work to create a single source of information on this unique regional sport, here on Candlepin 101.
